Practicing as s a registered Physiotherapist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist over the past few years, I have come across many individuals who simply do not know what a physiotherapist does or can offer. Growing up with a family rooted in the trust of conventional medicine, as a child, alternative treatments were rarely sought out. Physiotherapy was foreign to me when it came to pain and injuries. Painkillers and rushing to get an x-ray for every little injury were common place. Now that I have been practicing, I find it difficult to convince my own family of the importance and benefits of alternative treatments such as physiotherapy when it comes to injury rehabilitation and prevention. Since obtaining my CSCS, I have gained heightened appreciation for fitness, well-being, and an active lifestyle in the prevention of injuries and longevity of a healthy lifestyle. I have created this blog to educate others on my role as a physiotherapists and strength and conditioning specialist in the rehabilitation of various injuries, injury prevention techniques, and general fitness for living a healthy lifestyle.
